Three hours is just enough for a taste of everything in Wadi Rum.
Your Bedouin tour guide will explain the story behind these natural and historical wonders in English:
- Start your day at the Nabatean Temple. Built in the 1st century AD and with Latin inscriptions showing 3rd century Roman occupation, marvel at the engineering work of Jordan's forefathers.
- Continue to the Lawrence Springs. This naturally spring-fed system provides drinking water for many of Wadi Rum’s friendly camels.
- Head on to the Little Rock Bridge where you will climb up for open desert vistas and an iconic photo atop the little outlook.
- Next, go to the Khazali Canyon Inscriptions. Tucked inside a narrow canyon, these millennia-old carvings show the animals that once made their home in Wadi Rum (and some that are still around today). Your tour guide will explain more about the wildlife of Wadi Rum. On the other side of the canyon look for the Kufic writing that shows the evolution of the Arabic script.
- Finish your tour, by scaling the giant Sand Dune to earn your best views of the desert plains yet. Watch the camel convoys from far above.
Along the Way:
- Our desert-modified jeeps drive slowly so you can soak in the ever-changing landscape. If you’d like to stop for a photograph or any other reason, this is your tour!
- Enjoy the shade of our friends’ tents and a cup (or two!) or fire-brewed tea.
- We provide sand boards free of charge and will teach you our local sport.
- Our guides are experienced in the art of photography and are happy to help you capture your memories.
- Our guides grew up in Wadi Rum and are here to answer you questions about life in the desert.
